My first week at Nobull by Alex

Starting a new job can be a little tricky, but starting a new career through remote interviews, is, shall we say, nerve-racking.

Starting a new job can be a little tricky, but starting a new career through remote interviews, is, shall we say, nerve-racking. That being said, it couldn’t have been made easier by a fantastic group of people and a touch of forward thinking.

I have spent 10 years in the Motorsport industry as a fabricator/welder. I love cars. When Nobull gave me the opportunity to join the automotive team as their newest Senior Account Executive, I couldn’t possibly turn it down. Understanding the other side of the industry has always been something that interests me, so I am excited to expanding my knowledge, while learning about the PR and Communications side of the job.

Induction plans are often overlooked but as I’ve learned with Nobull, they are crucial. My first five days were organised in such a way that any training I needed would affect the rest of the team as little as possible, so I automatically felt part of the bigger picture. Working closely with Ian, I have been able to focus on the automotive clients. I couldn’t have asked to work with a more helpful and indeed, very patient Account Director. The whole team have been eternally helpful and kind, I am very excited about creating a future at this great company. I would say, I have never sent so many internal emails.

My first week was spent generally getting to grips with the different clients, all of them requiring me to gain specific insights, and record all activities to keep track of their progress. Learning how to use programs and systems, that not only had I not used, but which I’d never even come across was a lot to take on. Overall, I’ve been in awe of how my new colleagues are able to juggle 10 different jobs, from three separate clients, while at the same time being friendly and understanding towards helping me through my first week’s induction.
