Volvo dealer group Regent Automotive, is celebrating the success of two of its employees after they recently scooped personal awards for their outstanding achievements.
Volvo Gerrards Cross workshop technician Liam Underdown has been named the best apprentice in the UK Volvo dealer network while Martin Bridges, a technician at Regent’s Bishop’s Stortford dealership, has been honoured as an unsung hero by leading trade publication Motor Trader.
18-year-old Liam, who joined the dealership in October 2012, fought off competition from apprentices at over 100 other dealerships to be named Young Apprentice of the Year at a special awards ceremony.
Liam was commended for his ability to overcome challenges and his strong desire to improve performance in all area across his apprenticeship.
Meanwhile, Martin Bridges, who has worked at Volvo Cars Bishop’s Stortford for five years, was commended by Motor Trader for his tireless work in the Bishop’s Stortford workshop and consistently going the extra mile to deliver impeccable service levels to the dealership’s aftersales customers.
Regarding Liam’s award, Volvo Car UK apprentice programme manager Mark Ratcliffe commented: “At Liam’s workplace, he has become a valued member of the team. He has an excellent relationship with all his colleagues and is held in high regard. What sets Liam aside is his desire to understand each topic and improve his knowledge. He is usually at the heart of all group discussions and is a central figure within the group dynamics and his progress improves with every training block that goes by.”
Regent Automotive managing director Tracey Perry commented: “We’re incredibly proud of both Liam and Martin and that their efforts have been recognised with industry awards.
