Marshall Cambridge Volvo tees up support for Alzheimer’s Society at PGA event

  • Cambridge Volvo dealership is title sponsor of PGA East Region Pro Am at Girton Golf Club
  • Dealer partners with golf club to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society
  • First time Girton Golf Club has hosted PGA East Region Pro Am event

Local Volvo dealership Marshall Cambridge is helping to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society as the headline sponsor of the PGA East Region Pro Am at Girton Golf Club.

It is the first time that Girton Golf Club, located at Dodford Lane, Girton, will host the event which has already seen over 50 golfers enter.

The move reinforces Marshall’s links with local golf clubs after an event at Abbotsley Golf Club in July last year helped contribute towards a £237,220 fundraising total for Help for Heroes raised by the UK Volvo dealer network.

The event will see teams of three amateurs play 18 holes alongside a PGA professional at a cost of £80 for members and £60 for members of Girton, an offer that has been extended to Marshall’s customers.

A percentage of these entry fees will go directly to supporting the Alzheimer’s Society, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Cambridge Volvo general manager Martin Bryan commented: “We’re delighted to once again be partnering with a local golf club and supporting a worthy cause. It is a notable occasion for Girton Golf Club and the area to be hosting a PGA East Region Pro Am event for the first time and it is great to be a part of it.”

Girton Golf Club PGA Head Professional Alan Fletcher added: “We are very pleased to be hosting this event and the involvement of local businesses is essential to our success. We’d like to thank Marshall Cambridge for their support and as well as putting on a great event we hope we can raise a great amount of cash for the Alzheimer’s Society while doing so.”
