LinkedIn is changing its products and services tab on company pages from April 14. But don't panic - you will still be able to edit the tab but you will not be able to add new products and services.
Showcase Pages were introduced by LinkedIn late last year but from next Friday all businesses will have to use them as an alternative to the products and services tab.
The LinkedIn team commented, "we’re continuously evaluating how our current products and features are used, and seeking new ways to focus our resources on building the best products. This sometimes results in the retirement of certain features."
We recommend that you take action now by copying your information from the tab into a document and uploading this into a showcase page.You must be a company page administrator in order to create a Showcase Page.
Showcase Pages are perfect for large companies who have several brands or products. Each product could have its own page with LinkedIn features, and can be found by entering a keyword search at the top of any LinkedIn page or by visiting the parent Company Page and selecting the Showcase Page.
Showcase pages allow you to post real-time updates and share content from your business. You can include new images or videos which would be visible in your followers newsfeeds. When someone likes or comments the content you've posted on your showcase page it will get shared with their contacts and spread the word about your business.
The best thing about Showcase Pages is that they are a great way to allow your business to focus on a specific service or product and keep it separate from other news and updates.
