MY £9.50 HOLIDAY IS PART OF NEW BBC ONE COST OF LIVING SERIES
Park Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, is featuring in an upcoming BBC One documentary; My £9.50 Holiday. The programmelooks at the rise of the newspaper voucher holiday and the types of families taking these holidays in the wake of the economic downturn. Part of the BBC’s new Cost of Living series, My £9.50 Holiday will air at 10.35pm, BBC One on Monday 15 July.
The observational documentary gives a glimpse into the lives of holidaymakers on a budget and explores the activities they get up to on their £9.50 holidays. Focussing on just two of Park Resorts’ 39 coastal UK holiday parks; California Cliffs in Norfolk and Southview in Skegness, the documentary also gives an insight into the lives of some of the company’s staff to understand the day-to-day business behind one of Britain’s fastest growing holiday sectors.
The documentary, produced by Blakeway North, was commissioned by the BBC to be part of its Cost of Living series – an upbeat look at the way the UK is tightening its belts during the recession.
“While the newspaper voucher holiday has existed for over 40 years and almost 40 million holidays have been taken, it is only in the past few years that we have seen a shift in the profile of customers taking up these offers,” says Richie Jones, Sales and Marketing Director, Park Resorts.

From single parent families to couples with children or groups of singles, our parks can cater for those wanting lively or leisurely holidays in the best regions the UK has to offer. The Cost of Living Series starts onBBC One from Thursday 11 July.
