Online remarketing company Autorola has calculated the environmental effects of choosing a selling a vehicle online instead of at a physical auction.


By opting for an online solution, fewer vehicles are transported by road to the auction house with obvious reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as well as traffic congestion.


Calculations show the environmental benefit of opting for an online rather than a physical sale means in this case a truck will:-


·         Travel 87.67 miles less


·         Use 7.02 gallons less fuel


·         Reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 92kg per vehicle


The figures were made by Autorola Australia’s sustainability consultants Impact Sustainability using three months’ worth of data from the business’ current client base. By remarketing 100 trucks online, the operator offsets 9.2 tonnes of CO2.
