Closing date for free award entries 31 March 2013:

THE HUNT IS ON - to find, recognise and reward companies that have a heart: those businesses that care about their staff, customers, local community, suppliers and environment.

The International CSR Excellence Awards are sponsored by who will plant a tree on behalf of every company submitting a free entry.  It will also plant a tree every time anyone makes a purchase through its shopping portal.  So simply by taking part you will already be contributing more positively to the environment and have a tree planted in your name!

A CSR Excellence Award is more than a trophy, it is just one part of a positive communication programme. The awards are designed to help companies review what they are already doing, and shout about their CSR accomplishments and achievements.

Entries are invited from companies of any size (both from the private and public sectors) with categories that offer winning opportunities for any type of business, whether they have a defined CSR programme or not. Award categories range from employee benefits to volunteering, equal opportunities to ethical investment and philanthropy, etc.  More details at

PPP (Partners in Protecting the Planet) will plant even more trees to offset the carbon footprints of all winning companies attending the free Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Awards presentation ceremony at a top venue in the summer.

“Responsible, caring organisations are in a privileged position to be a realistic force for good and change-for-the-better and we want to reward their efforts,” said campaign organiser Richard Collins, managing director of Ecobrand.

“They can help those who depend on them for their livelihoods, and others less fortunate. They might have a documented CSR policy, or they might just spontaneously demonstrate their caring nature by helping where they have no obligation to do so.

“Either way, we want to hear about them and reward their efforts.  Every company has THREE chances of success as there are Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies and certificates in every category, as well as the overall winner prize for the company with the biggest heart.”

Entries are accepted online at, or by email to  The closing date for free entries is 31 March 2013.

Making more of the award win

Companies entering the International CSR Awards can also benefit from experienced support and guidance from PPP’s dedicated communications agency, Sustainabull, to enable entrants to achieve the best return on investment possible and share the accolade.  The team can give guidance on how to compose a successful award entry; provide marketing material on the win to share with stakeholders, media and customers via off-line and online activity; and for sponsors, to provide a strategy to maximise the return on the sponsorship.

Editor’s notes:

More on sponsors is operated by Partners in Protecting the Planet, a group of companies and organisations committed to helping the environment. It is supported by The Green Apple Awards and The Green Organisation, an independent, non-profit, non-political, non-activist environment group that recognises, rewards and promotes environmental best practice around the world.

Its tree planting campaign is organised by Green Earth Appeal as part of its partnership role in the United Nations Environment Programme.

Trees are currently being planted where they will do most good in emerging nations. Not only do they replace woodland and wildlife habitat lost to tsunamis and illegal logging, but they greatly reduce the damaging effect of carbon dioxide emissions, and provide food, fuel, financial opportunity, independence and self-respect for the impoverished.
