Fully understanding our target audience was number one priority and we based our media brief around extensive research we conducted into 'skin tag' taboos and associated embarrassment. We looked at the treatment options available currently and quickly discovered that the many people put off by the prospect of costly trips to the salon are keen to find an 'at-home' solution. The response to our three carefully curated press releases and deskside meetings was fantastic.
We achieved positive coverage in a number of high circulation national publications, among them, Take a Break magazine, The Sunday Mirror, Pick Me Up and Prima Magazine. Boots has since confirmed they saw a 50% direct increase in sales following the Take a Break coverage alone.
