Healthy parties for children Concept: The Pumpkin Plot was set up by Alison Greenhalgh in early 2008. Having enjoyed a career in sales and marketing, Alison wanted to share her own passion for fruit and vegetable growing and saw the opportunity to share her skills and build a business. Many people are keen to set up their own kitchen garden but lack advice and time - The Pumpkin Plot was created to meet that need and to help people who want to grow their own fruit and vegetables at home. Following on from this Alison developed a party format to encourage children to enjoy gardening. The Pumpkin Plot parties offer an alternative to the traditional child’s birthday party, with organic, healthy and practical activities tailored to specific requirements: Strawberry, potato and sunflower pot making
Den building
Floral Hideaway making
Making a Mini Kitchen Garden
Creating wildlife habitats – help creating lacewing houses, planting wildflowers, and fixing birdboxes
The project for Nobull: To launch The Pumpkin Plot’s parties to regional and parenting press in Amersham and the surrounding area
To build media and consumer awareness
To increase awareness of The Pumpkin Plot’s other services
Results: A range of regional coverage in local newspapers and parenting publications, resulted in a significant increase in enquiries and party bookings. Visits to the website also increased as well as awareness of The Pumpkin Plots other services – gift baskets and gardening advice. |
