NOBULL MOTORS AHEAD WITH NEW BUSINESS WINS

ADDING DENT WIZARD AND FLYING COLOURS TO ITS GROWING MAINHEIM AUCTION PORTFOLIO AND APPOINTING NEW MOTORING WHIZZ KID ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Manheim Auctions the world’s largest vehicle auction company has appointed Nobull Communications to manage PR for its Dent Wizard and Flying Colours brand in the UK & Europe. Nobull has already been working with Manheim’s auction business for four years and is now extending its role to include media relations for Dent Wizard and Flying Colours.

Dent Wizard provides a Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) service for dealers, bodyshops, auction houses, insurance companies and fleet operators.

With headquarters in Sutton Coldfield, it is the only company offering national PDR coverage and has a long standing track record of providing a high-quality, added value service in this important marketplace.

Flying Colours is Dent Wizard's sister company and provides a specialised repair and cosmetic refurbishment service to areas of vehicles which have traditionally needed replacement rather than repair. Highly cost effective, this covers all types of upholstery, headlinings, carpets, plastic trims, windscreens and also includes localised paintwork.

Steve Carman, Director, Nobull says: “We’re delighted that Manhiem has chosen to grow their business with us and likewise have invested in our support for this valued account.”

To help manage this growth Nobull has appointed Nathan Millward, who was recently awarded his Masters in Business from Warwick University and contributed several articles in Auto Express magazine.

NOBULL/MILESTONE COLLABORATION BREAKS USED CAR RETAILING MOULD

WITH NEW KARMA BRANDING

New approachable image should help attract women and family
buyers to the Karma brand

Two Thames Valley marketing agencies have combined forces to develop a ‘Karma’ brand identity for a used car retail superstore opening in Watford in the Autumn.

Marketing communications company NoBull and brand development specialists Milestone Strategic Design beat five other agencies to secure the project which involved designing, developing and rolling out the new brand identity for car supermarket owners Private and Commercial Finance Group plc (P&C).

NoBull/Milestone developed the winning name Karma with its cuddly bubble car logo on the back of P&C wanting to create a fresh, dynamic, warm and friendly approach to retailing and financing used cars, thus breaking the mould in this type of industry.

The project was completed with the tagline ‘Buy Your Car the Karma Way - Great Choice, Easy Finance, Peace of Mind. This reinforces the finance house’s aim of selling a range of quality used cars together with its own range of finance and insurance products directly to Karma drivers in a straightforward, no hassle fashion.

As well as developing Karma’s literature and advertising the Nobull/Milestone collaboration has also been heavily involved in developing the brand for use on its new 1.2-acre site in Watford, which will house around 230 used cars.

Due to open in the Autumn, Karma believes its approachable new image will encourage women and families to visit the Watford site: - two social groups that often don’t feel comfortable when visiting a traditional used car retailer.

‘When we came up with the Karma brand we wanted to create an approachable, softer image that would make all drivers want to visit the site and buy a car. We believe Karma is unique in the used car retailing industry and shows enormous presence of mind and courage by Private and Commercial to go against the trend,’ said Steve Carman, Director of NoBull.

‘When Nobull/Milestone presented to us we were immediately blown away with their designs and after putting them to the P&C Board Karma came out a clear winner,’ said Shane Robinson, Operations Director of Karma.

‘I believe we have a real unique brand that matches our innovative approach to the used car market,’ he added.

Karma could open further retail supermarkets in the future and plans to offer a range of warranties and guarantees to make buying a used car from Karma as risk free as possible.

THE NEW DRIVE BEHIND AVIS PR

Two Thames-Valley PR agencies have been appointed by Avis UK to increase its share of voice in the highly competitive vehicle rental industry.

Guerilla and Nobull Communications based in Maidenhead (Berks) and Wooburn Town (Bucks), respectively, have been appointed to breathe fresh new life into the long-standing brand.

This followed a three month PR and communication strategy review by Penny Stoolman, Avis UK’s newly appointed Sales and Marketing Director.

Guerilla is managing all Avis consumer PR, while Nobull is using its B2B expertise to oversee all trade PR, which includes the vehicle fleet management and travel trade press.

Initially six agencies were called in by Avis to pitch for the single PR account, but the strengths of both Guerilla and Nobull in their specific consumer and B2B areas meant a change of plan and two agencies were appointed.

“On the leisure side, car hire has traditionally been seen almost exclusively as an integral part of booking a holiday”, says Penny Stoolman, “but we are keen to promote the benefits of our service for a variety of other purposes such as special family occasions or those times when you feel like driving an alternative car at the weekend.

“We also want to reinforce the Avis brand as offering innovative rental solutions to meet the ever changing vehicle rental needs of corporate and fleet customers,’ she added.

Both agencies will also work closely with Avis alliance partners such as BMi, Flybe and Trainline.com to publicise joint offers and product developments in their relevant markets.

Nobull, a Thames-valley based events, PR and marketing agency, launches its new Pukka Places extraordinary and exclusive location search service. These venues can provide an innovative yet ideal setting for all manner of events - conferences, customer relationship building, product and service launches, special occasions, photo and film shoots.

The Nobull team has been finding exactly the right location for clients for nearly 15 years and has built up a database of diverse venues in the UK, and worldwide.

“We pride ourselves in carefully considering a number of elements and honing our search for venues that match client criteria, reflect their brand values and meet their event needs. The difference with Pukka Places from other

such services is that no location falls beneath a four star rating and many are relatively unknown. The real benefit is that we can often negotiate a pretty good deal, so even though the venues are out of this world, clients don’t have to pay the earth.

“We have nine categories: Romantic retreats, contemporary, Design & Art, Chic & Funky, Urban sophistication, Country escape, Luxurious elegance, Sea views and Quietly glamorous.

“Our recommended locations all have one thing in common, they will provide a superb, distinctive setting that has a lasting impression on guests’ minds long after they leave.

“Pukka Places is part of our overall event creation and management offering, however clients can use it as a stand-alone service.”
