We went to Love Island!

We went to Love Island!

Love it or hate it, Love Island is back on our TV screens and for the next eight weeks it will be the topic of conversation in the Nobull Comms office!

The show has only been back for a week, and has already created many hot topics for discussion. There’s already been plenty of debates about this year’s series having more applications than there was to study at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, to Islander Dani Dyer blow drying her eyelashes (the Nobull team will be stealing this tip!). Not a day has passed where the previous night’s antics haven’t been pawed over by the UK media!

Last Sunday (10th June) Beth and I headed to Elstree TV Studios to watch the live filming of Love Island Aftersun, the sister show of Love Island hosted by Caroline Flack, immediately after the main event. The show is filmed in front of a live audience of 80 people, and once we had sat down at our table (on the front row!) we found out there had been over 103,000 applications for tickets, we couldn’t believe our luck!

We were kept hydrated with bottles of wine while enjoying a preview of the night’s show which we watched alongside the celebrity guests, Joel Dommett, Vick Hope and Kem Cetinay, while the show's resident DJs and Nobull's favourites twins The Mac Twins, provided some great songs to sing and dance too! After mingling with the stars and making our TV debut to a couple of million viewers, it’s safe to say Love Island is everywhere this year!

If last year’s series is anything to go by we will be seeing this year’s contestants all over our social media feeds for a long time. We have all seen the classic #ad teeth whitening posts from previous contestants, with last year’s winners Kem and Amber said to earn between £8,000- £6,000 per sponsored Instagram post. Celebrity Intelligence also named Chris Hughes in their Top 20 endorsers of 2017, alongside Kim Kardashian West and Gigi Hadid.

We are expecting the contestants from this year to be big attractions for brands and PR agencies, watch this space for any collaborations (if Beth and I get our way)!
