In 1977 Queen Elizabeth II marked 25 years on the throne, and celebrated her Silver Jubilee with a nationwide tour, commonwealth visits, a bonfire chain, a public holiday and lots of celebrations.

In 2002 The Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrated the 50^th anniversary of her accession to the throne. The event was marked by concerts, a service, and a tour of both this country and the commonwealth.

This year the Queen has reigned for 60 years and the Diamond Jubilee will be celebrated with a national holiday, concert and royal visits to various parts of the country.
